Our vinyl skin kits are digitally cut from high quality premium 2 mil thick 7-year outdoor vinyl, they are not paper stickers. It’s the same material you see on most store front windows that display their hours of operation or advertise their products and services. To install our skin kits simply peel each piece off of a waxy liner backing to expose an adhesive side then you apply it to your console, just like you are using contact paper inside of a drawer or on a shelf. No glue is needed.

Review by Adora for Nintendo Wii Skin – NEW – PURPLE CHROME MIRROR system skins faceplate decal mod
Rating:
My initial reaction when my skin arrived is that the purple looks nothing like what is pictured here. I expected a somehow shiny purple. What I got was a very matte, dark purple skin. I am guessing if you are looking for a more metallic skin then you should try the “mirror” skins by this company? Regardless, this is definitely not the shiny metallic purple it appears in the picture here. It still, however, is a very nice deep purple that goes extremely well in my room and draws less attention than the metallic one I was originally hoping for. I decided not to bother trying to exchange the skin, though I imagine I could have.
Application is time consuming if done correctly and should really should be done by adults. The skins come with instructions for “application solution” (water mixed with a small amount of dish soap) which is absolutely VITAL to getting your skin where you want. You will have to frequently re-wet the skin/system if you are having difficulty with placement. They recommend wrapping a credit card in a micro fiber cloth to push out bubbles on the larger surfaces, which is advice I recommend taking as well. The micro fiber really does stop you from damaging the skin with the card.
By FAR the most difficult decal to apply is the face, because the sticker curves down around the side of the system. Take your time and be patient with this one! It’s hard to get a grip on the area around the cd while trying to keep the decal bent down until it attaches to the system without slipping the entire thing out of place. I tried to just do the face, let it dry, and go back later to do the curve. This was a bad idea that I am lucky I was able to fix without destroying the skin. My best advice is to use the bottom of your palms to hold down the curved area and try to align the front with your fingers. Be careful not to let things dry out until it’s perfect, and make sure you keep holding down the curved area until the skin dries and adheres to the system, or it will begin to peel up and/or bubble. All the others are fairly easy to apply and do not need nearly as much care or attention.
I cannot express how happy I am with how my system looks now! I absolutely hate white and have always been turned off by the fact that Nintendo chose that as the launch color for the Wii. There is still visible white on the machine but it’s more of a classy strip than the eyesore that it used to be!
All in all I am very happy with this purchase and recommend that people who dislike their white systems, but don’t want to shell out the extra cash to upgrade to the newer black model, try a skin instead. Just make sure the description says “mirror” if you are looking for a shiny skin!
