What is the Wii Fit Weight Limit – What You Need to Know

Wii Fit weight limitNintendo’s Wii fit is marketed as a tool for getting in to shape and losing weight. However, like any other man made item that requires weight to be put on it, the Wii fit weight limit is something everyone considering a Wii should take into account.

There are two weight limits listed when you look up the Wii weight limit. The first is the actual load the balance board can handle, which happens to be 600 lbs. However, in order to play the game and use the software you must weigh under 330 lbs. for the U.S. version and under 300 lbs. for other versions.

The differing weight limits allows the balance board to take the pressure exerted on it by some of the games without damage to the board. Additionally, the scales are only accurate to the 330 lb. mark. This is no different than treadmills or other exercise equipment that has a weight limit placed on them.

Perhaps Wii will see this as an opportunity to make Wii fit for heavier people or perhaps Nintendo sees this as added incentive for people to lose weight.

Either way, for the time being if you way more than 330 lbs. you cannot get past the weigh-in screen on the Wii fit game.

The Wii fit weight limit may motivate those who are over the limit to step up their weight loss program. With the goal of being able to use the Wii fit for exercise, some people may find it easier to push themselves a little harder to shed some excess pounds.

However, increasing the Wii Fit weight limit will make the unit appeal to more people and Nintendo will obviously make more sales.

There are other ways to start the weight loss and move on to the Wii fit. There are programs available for people who need to lose a good deal of weight and need help in doing so. Additionally, adding aerobics to your at home program will boost your metabolism to help burn calories and shed those unwanted pounds.

One of the easiest ways to start your aerobics program and lose weight is walking. Just plain walking.  Whether on a treadmill or around the neighborhood, walking is a proven weight loss tool and when incorporated into a diet program the pounds will begin to disappear.

Wii fit has a weight limit of 330 lbs. to use the program, although the actual board can tolerate up to 600 lbs. of pressure. If you are above the weight limit start a program to shed some pounds and then jump on board to get in shape. Exercise becomes much more fun with the Wii Fit.
